Press Conference: Significant Results during the Reporting Period
On February 2, 2026 a press conference of the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics was held at the Digital Education Center in accordance with the schedule approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and coordinated with the Executive Authority of the Sughd Region.
The event was attended by the Rector of the University, Sheroz Muminzoda; Head of the Department for Social Development and Public Relations of the Chairman’s Office of the Sughd Region, Tojiboy Sultonzoda; heads of departments and divisions; deans of faculties; and representatives of more than 20 local, regional, and national media outlets.
The conference began with an opening speech by the Rector, who delivered a detailed presentation on the University’s activities in 2025. It was noted that the University’s work is carried out in line with the instructions and directives, education-oriented policy, and constructive initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, as well as in accordance with the decisions of the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. Concrete measures are being implemented to effectively realize state policy in the fields of education and science.
It was emphasized that during the reporting period, primary attention was given to improving the quality of education, enhancing the teaching and learning process, implementing modern teaching methods and innovative technologies, strengthening foreign language instruction, upgrading material and technical resources, expanding research activities, and raising the professional level of academic staff.
Currently, the University comprises 6 faculties, 30 departments, 5 academic buildings with 135 classrooms, a modern dormitory, scientific and electronic libraries, a sports complex and field, 16 computer laboratories, a language laboratory, specialized laboratories, a courtroom, a legal clinic, testing and language centers. More than 2,600 computers and modern technical devices are used in the educational process.
During the conference, it was noted that in the reporting year the University successfully passed its очередную государственную accreditation and attestation, obtaining the relevant license and accreditation certificate. Based on the new license, beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, student admission will be launched in three new modern specialties: “Foreign Policy and Diplomacy,” “Legal Regulation of Anti-Corruption,” and “Artificial Intelligence.”
The conference also reviewed academic and research achievements, publishing activities, scientific conferences, participation of faculty and students in national and international competitions and Olympiads, expansion of international cooperation, and implementation of academic exchange programs. It was highlighted that in 2025, University students and faculty achieved notable successes, winning prizes and awards in various competitions.
The final part of the conference was dedicated to a Q&A session. The Rector provided detailed and comprehensive answers to more than 20 questions from journalists concerning graduate employment, support for winners of national competitions, benefits for high-achieving students, the use of artificial intelligence at the University, academic mobility and international cooperation, activities of the legal clinic, implementation of dual education, establishment of professional development centers, outreach activities and their outcomes, introduction of new specialties, ongoing construction and development projects, and other pressing issues.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that the University will continue to strengthen its efforts in implementing the directives of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan to improve education quality, advance science, train highly qualified specialists, and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.
