First, the vice-rector for Science and Innovation, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Furqat Khamidzoda, welcomed the guests and participants. He noted that the most important tasks of spiritual culture include preservation and development of nation’s cultural heritage, ensuring spiritual and moral upbringing of citizens, development of art and crafts, formation of a personality with a broad worldview, and raising socio-cultural level of society. Preservation of cultural heritage focuses on safeguarding historical and cultural monuments such as monuments, museums, libraries, and folk traditions. Spiritual upbringing fosters a personality with high values such as honesty, patriotism, and humanism, based on national and universal values. Spiritual culture also promotes development of all types of arts and folk crafts including music, literature, theater, and handicrafts to enable their growth within society. The formation of a broad worldview allows citizens to respect different opinions and thus contributes to promotion of thinking. Raising the socio-cultural level of society is achieved through cultural events such as festivals, exhibitions, and artistic programs. Spiritual culture helps raise spiritual level of the population and strengthens social cohesion.
