TSULBP: Extended Meeting of the Council of Academic Group Supervisors Held
An extended meeting of the Council of Academic Group Supervisors was held in the main auditorium of Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics (TSULBP), chaired by the vice-rector for academic affairs, associate professor Sheroz Muminzoda, and vice-rector education affairs, associate professor Shahnоza Normatova.
The meeting was attended by faculty deans, department heads, and academic group supervisors.
The session focused on summarizing activities of group supervisors and discussing critical issues such as students’ academic debts, tuition fees, and attendance.
Key issues discussed included:
- Improving educational and moral upbringing efforts;
- Introducing students to legal and regulatory documents relevant to their status;
- Preventing delinquency and youth crime;
- Combating the involvement of students in illegal groups and extremist movements;
- Ensuring compliance with university’s recommended dress code;
- Restricting the use of mobile phones during classes;
- Monitoring students’ use of private transport to university.
Supervisors were instructed to intensify awareness campaigns regarding these issues. It was also recommended that group supervisors submit biannual summary reports on students’ academic, disciplinary, and research activities.
The vice-rectors also called upon supervisors to encourage student participation in various competitions at university, regional, national, and international levels. It was announced that students who win top positions in competitions such as:
- “Furughi Subḥi Donoi Kitob Ast” (The Dawn of Wisdom Lies in Books),
- “Tojikiston – Vatani Azizi Man” (Tajikistan – My Beloved Homeland), and
- “Ilm – Furughi Ma’rifat” (Science – the Light of Knowledge)
will be awarded monetary prizes by the university administration.
In conclusion, associate professor Sheroz Muminzoda urged participants to maintain political awareness, contribute to preserving achievements of national independence, and promote national values. He emphasized the importance of educating students about national and state symbols during mentoring sessions, so that alongside professional knowledge, students also develop patriotism, self-awareness, and language proficiency.
