Online training for professional development of teachers in groups with English at TSULBP.
It should be noted with satisfaction that, within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ program, since August 1, 2019, the SMPPC project- Staff mobility between program and partner countries is being implemented– between South Eastern Regional College, Ireland (United Kingdom) and Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics.
On the basis of this project, on November 10-16, 2019, the rector of the university, professor Sharifzoda Mumin and the adviser for the development of international projects, the project coordinator at the university Juraev Abdurahim participated in the organizational meeting and “Training for trainers” of the Erasmus + South Eastern Regional College, Ireland (United Kingdom ). During the visit, a plan of cooperation was prepared between South Eastern Regional College, Ireland (United Kingdom ) and the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics.
According to the project plan, the next visit of representatives of the South Eastern Regional College, the head of the Department of International Relations of the college Claire Henderson and the manager of international development of the college Elaine McKeown to the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics of Tajikistan was to take place in early June 2020, but unfortunately, due to the global spread of Covid-19 and the temporary cessation of ties between countries, the implementation of this plan has been postponed.
Taking into account the current situation and for purpose of using opportunity to continue fruitful cooperation with the South Eastern Regional College, by the initiative of the rector of the university, professor Sharifzoda Mumin, the project coordinators at College, Elaine McKeown and at TSULBP, Abdurahim Juraev decided to invite one of the experienced teachers of the college, Declan Flanagan, to conduct online – training for professional development of teachers of academic groups in English, outside the project, with the university payment.
So, on December 2, 2020, on behalf of the rector of the university, with the assistance of the educational and international departments, the first event -meeting of Abdurahim Juraev with teachers of English groups took place. In this meeting, teachers were familiarized with the overall goal of the project and familiarized with the online English program, as well as with the work experience of a foreign teacher from the UK Declan Flanagan. Also, open interviews were conducted with teachers in order to determine the degree of their readiness to participate in the training.
On December 18, 2020, an online meeting of the project coordinators Elaine McKeown, Abdurakhim Juraev and the training participants took place. At this meeting, the greeting of the Rector of the University, Professor Sharifzoda Mumin Mashokir to all the participants of the meeting was voiced, a conversation between the teacher Declan Flanagan and the participants took place. The date and time of training was set – January 11, 2021 – Tuesday, Friday from 14 to 16 hours.
On December 18, 2020, a meeting of the project coordinators Elaine McKeown, Abdurahim Juraev and participants was held online. In this meeting, Rector’s greeting- Professor Sharifzoda M.M. to all participants of the meeting was announced, the conversation of the teacher Declan Flanagan with the participants was held, the start date, dates and time of the training were set – January 11, 2021. Tuesdays, Fridays, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Classes are held for 40 hours, with the participation of 12 or 13 teachers, twice a week, for 2.5 months.

This initiative is in line with the instructive words of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who said: “Language is a mirror that reflects a strong image of the nation, and we must respect this symbol of our national identity and at the same time give priority to learning of Russian and English as languages of international communication. “
We believe that this training with the participation of an experienced foreign teacher (UK) Declan Flanagan will contribute to the professional development of teachers, increase the level of language proficiency and the quality of teaching in groups with English.
