Scientific and Practical Conference Held on “National Identity as a Factor of Political Stability”
A scientific and practical conference entitled “National Identity as a Factor of Political Stability” was held at Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics, dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and 50th anniversary of an academic and pedagogical career of the distinguished scholar, political scientist, and historian Alijon Odinaev.
The conference was attended by the University administration, scholars and researchers, faculty members, students, representatives of higher educational institutions, and invited guests.
Opening the conference, Rector of the University, Sheroz Muminzoda, emphasized that strengthening national identity, fostering patriotism, and respecting national values are among the most important factors in ensuring political stability and sustainable social development. He noted that during independence, under the wise leadership of the Leader of Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, favorable conditions have been created for the development of science and education, strengthening of national identity, and consolidation of statehood.
Mr. Muminzoda also highlighted valuable contributions of scholar, political scientist, and historian Alijon Odinaev, noting that his more than fifty years of service in education and science, his role in training highly qualified specialists, and his contribution to the development of political science in the country deserve great respect and recognition. It was emphasized that Professor Odinaev has made a significant contribution to educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, national identity, and civic responsibility, while establishing his own academic school through his productive teaching and research activities.
Subsequently, Suhrob Rustamzoda, representative of an Executive Body of State Authority of Sughd Province, spoke about Alijon Odinaev’s outstanding contributions to socio-political activities and public life.
The dean of Political Science and International Relations faculty, Shuhrat Saidzoda, then delivered a presentation entitled “Do Not Walk Without a Mentor, and You Will Be Safe…”, highlighting Professor Odinaev’s role in mentoring students, shaping their political outlook, and fostering scientific thinking among young people.
Associate Professor Shavkat Sharopov of History department at Khujand State University named after Academician Bobojon Gafurov presented a report entitled “A Historian and an Active Public Figure,” analyzing Alijon Odinaev’s academic and social activities and emphasizing his contribution to the development of historical science and public life in the country.
Associate Professor Safarali Erkaev of the same department delivered a presentation on “The Academic, Pedagogical, and Public Activities of Alijon Odinaev,” providing detailed information about his scholarly achievements, teaching career, research work, and contribution to the training of young professionals.
- Zunukhodjaev, Deputy Chairman of the Council of War and Labor Veterans of Khujand, also addressed the audience, highlighting Professor Odinaev’s personal qualities, responsibility, patriotism, and contribution to social development and youth education. He described scholar’s lifelong service as an exemplary model for both academics and younger generations. Several friends and colleagues also shared their memories and reflections on the honoree’s achievements and professional accomplishments.
During the conference, participants exchanged views on key issues related to national identity, its role in strengthening political stability, developing national statehood, and educating active and responsible citizens. The contribution of scholars and intellectuals to preserving and promoting national values was highly appreciated.
At the conclusion of the conference, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Alijon Odinaev’s academic and pedagogical career, the University administration and representatives of various institutions extended their congratulations and expressed gratitude for his outstanding services to science and education, the training of young specialists, and the advancement of society.
