OPENING OF THE REPUBLICAN OLYMPIAD AMONG STUDENTS DEDICATED TO THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF STATE INDEPENDENCE

On May 7, 2026, Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics launched the Republican Olympiad among students of higher professional educational institutions entitled “Tavono buvad, har ki dono buvad” (“He who possesses knowledge is powerful”), dedicated to the 35th anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of higher educational institutions, representatives of Executive Body of State Authority of Sughd Region, teachers, and students.

First, the guests familiarized themselves with educational conditions created at the university, well-equipped classrooms, and university’s scientific opportunities. Afterwards, an official opening ceremony of the Olympiad took place.

During the opening ceremony, H. Saidzoda, Head of the Department of Higher Professional and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry, University rector Sh. Muminzoda, and a representative of an Executive Body of State Authority of Sughd Region delivered speeches emphasizing that holding such republican-level competitions creates favorable conditions for strengthening scientific outlooks, developing creative thinking, and improving educational level of young people.

It was noted that Republican Olympiad is organized to assess encyclopedic subject knowledge, improve teaching methods, develop students’ independent activities, prepare highly qualified specialists who meet labor market requirements, identify talented intellectual youth, and strengthen friendly relations among students from different regions of the country.

The speakers particularly emphasized that organizing Olympiad in various regions of the country contributes to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding, reinforcing bonds of camaraderie among students, and promoting patriotism and national self-awareness.

It was also stated that holding the Olympiad in university’s new building, inaugurated on March 29, 2026, with the participation of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, demonstrates constant attention of the country’s leadership to the development of science and education and creation of conditions for youth education.

It was emphasized that organizing Republican Olympiad “Tavono buvad, har ki dono buvad” in the honor of the 35th anniversary State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan reflects special attention of the state and government toward the development of science and education, support for talented youth, and strengthening intellectual potential of society. During the years of independence, thanks to educational policies of a Leader of Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, a solid foundation has been established for creating modern educational conditions, developing scientific thinking, and training highly qualified personnel.

According to organizing committee, 490 students from 46 higher educational institutions of the country are participating in this year’s Republican Olympiad. The competition is being held in 15 academic disciplines within two categories — humanities, economics and social sciences, and natural sciences and mathematics.

In accordance with established procedures, students were given a specific amount of time to complete assignments, and to ensure transparency and fair evaluation, subject experts from National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan were involved in the judging process.

At the end of an opening ceremony, participants were informed by the organizing committee about the Olympiad procedures and assigned to examination rooms according to their academic subjects.
