TSULBP: “State Independence and Development of Legal Science in the Republic of Tajikistan”

On April 7, 2026, a republican scientific and theoretical conference titled “State Independence and Development of Legal Science in the Republic of Tajikistan” was held at the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics.

The event was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as to the 65th anniversary of the academic and teaching career of the Honored Worker of the Republic of Tajikistan, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor Temurjon Oripov. The conference brought together representatives of state authorities, scholars, researchers, faculty members, and students. It was organized at the initiative of the Constitutional Law chair.

The conference was opened with remarks by the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Furkat Homidzoda, who emphasized that in the modern global context, safeguarding independence and freedom, strengthening statehood, and advancing legal science are among the primary tasks of society.

Additionally, Tojiboy Sultonzoda, Head of the Department of Social Development and Public Relations of the Executive Office of the Chairman of Sughd Region, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of state independence and development of a legal framework for the country’s progress.

During the plenary session, several academic papers were presented. Among them, the Deputy Director of the Institute for Asian Study and European States of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Doctor of Law, Professor Doniyor Sanginzoda, presented a report on “Formation and Development of Tourism Legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan.” Doctor of Law, Professor of the Commercial and Anti-Corruption Law chair of the Tajik State University of Commerce, Bahodur Razzokov, delivered an online presentation on “Some Legal Issues of Strengthening National Statehood in the Republic of Tajikistan.” Doctor of Law, Honored Worker of Tajikistan, Professor of the Theory and History of State and Law chair of TSULBP, Izatullo Muhammadiyev, presented on “Development of Legislation on Prosecutorial Bodies in Independent Tajikistan.” Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of Faculty No. 4 of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdullo Rahmatullo, presented a report on “Historiography of the Law Enforcement System as a Basis for Enhancing Legal Awareness of Officers.” Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of Law chair of Khujand State University named after Academician B. Gafurov, Kiromiddin Mukhtorzoda, spoke on “The Legal School of Professor T.O. Oripov in the Development of Modern Constitutional Law Science.”

Participants of the conference emphasized that achievements of an independence period have created favorable conditions for sustainable development of the legal system and strengthening foundations of statehood. In this regard, scientific research and exchange of ideas among specialists are of particular importance for the further advancement of legal science.

At the end of an event, Professor Temurjon Oripov was expressed gratitude for his significant contribution to the development of legal science and training of highly qualified specialists.

The conference was held in a scholarly atmosphere and contributed to the expansion of academic cooperation.
