Visit of an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. John Song Shik, to TSULBP
Оn December 18, 2025, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. John Song Shik, paid a working visit to Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics. The rector of the university, Sheroz Muminzoda, warmly welcomed Mr. Song Shik and his accompanying delegation and introduced them with University’s achievements, infrastructure, as well as its educational and research capacities in the context of developing international cooperation.
During the meeting, the head of the university outlined the key areas of bilateral cooperation and emphasized that university has established active academic and cultural ties with higher education institutions of the Republic of Korea. Joint educational programs, Korean language courses, and cultural events contribute to an expansion of language-learning environment and provide students with greater opportunities to immerse themselves in Korean linguistic and cultural space.
As part of the visit, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. John Song Shik, held a meeting with university leaders and visited the Korean Corner established at the University.
It is worth noting that in 2024, with the direct support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Tajikistan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. Based on this memorandum, a Korean Language Learning Center was established at the university, contributing to an expansion of cultural and academic cooperation. Over the course of one year, more than 100 students received instruction from a native-speaking teacher, learned Korean language, gained knowledge about Korean culture and traditions, and were awarded certificates.
It should also be noted that during the mentioned period, an Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Tajikistan visited university twice, and in November 2024, a representative of university administration — Komiljon Sharipov, head of the Strategic and International Cooperation department — was delegated to Seoul, Republic of Korea, to participate in an international program for foreign language teachers. At present, several students who have completed Korean language program have obtained certificates.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to expand further cooperation, implement joint projects, and explore new avenues for constructive partnership.
Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics expressed its gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea for its attention and support and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing fruitful cooperation.
