Participation of University Professors in the International Symposium in Kokand

From November, University’s vice-rector for Science and Innovation, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Furqat Muqimovich Homidzoda, and the chief of International Relations chair, Professor Nu’monjon Usmonzoda Ghaffori, took part in the international scientific conference titled “The History of Agrarian Issues and Women in Central Asia in the 20th Century” held in the city of Kokand, Republic of Uzbekistan.

This international scientific event, attended by distinguished scholars from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of a prominent historian, academician Rahima Hodievna Aminova (1925–2001), the first woman in Central Asia to earn the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences and academic title of Professor. The main purpose of a conference was to examine and evaluate important issues of agrarian history and the role of women in Central Asian society during the 20th century from today’s perspective.

At the conference, professor Homidzoda F. M. presented a scholarly report titled “On the Issue of Historiography of Agrarian Transformations in Tajikistan in 1920–1930s,” while professor Ghaffori N. U. delivered a report on “Scientific Relations Between Tajiks and Uzbeks: Past and Present.”

As part of this prestigious international conference, our professors visited the historical museum complex “Ark of Khudoyar Khan” in Kokand, Museum of Great Thinkers, the House-Museum of Academician Rahima Aminova, the Museum of Applied Arts, and Kokand State University. These visits left them with very positive and memorable impressions.

The participation of our scholars in this international scientific conference will contribute to expanding academic cooperation and strengthening interregional collaboration of our university.
