Celebration of Knowledge Day and the Peace Lesson at TSULBP

On September 1, 2025, the courtyard of the academic building of Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics resembled a festive square, as students had gathered to mark the beginning of 2025–2026 academic year and to celebrate Day of Knowledge and Lesson of peace. University staff, professors, and students took part in the event.

The ceremony was officially opened by the university’s rector, Associate Professor Sheroz Abdujabbor Muminzoda, who then gave the floor to honored guests. Deputy Chairman of Sughd region Jamshed Jurazoda and deputy Mayor of Khujand City Muyassara Qahhori delivered congratulatory messages on behalf of regional governor and city mayor in honor of Day of Knowledge and Peace Lesson.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized the role of education as a cornerstone of personal and societal development, as well as the historic importance of peace and stability in the progress of the state. They stressed that young people must take advantage of opportunities provided, act responsibly, and contribute meaningfully to advancement of an independent Tajikistan through education and personal growth.

The university’s rector, Associate Professor Muminzoda S.A., congratulated participants, staff, professors, and students on the start of the new academic year. He noted the symbolic importance of beginning the academic year with the eve of an anniversary of the Republic of Tajikistan’s State Independence. As such, this joyful holiday — Knowledge Day — is celebrated not only by educators, but also by all citizens as a meaningful and inspiring event. This day marks the beginning of a new journey toward gaining knowledge and achieving academic heights. That is why the first day of an academic year is celebrated as Knowledge Day, and the first classes commence with the Peace Lesson.

It should be noted that the annual Peace Lesson, held with the direct participation of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, symbolizes respect for knowledge and learning. This noble tradition and constructive guidance of the Head of State direct society toward wisdom and enlightenment — crucial for shaping the future of a nation.

Indeed, the era of independence, which represents a period of large-scale development, strategic goals, lasting peace and stability, and dignified living, has given new inspiration to advancement of education and science. During this time, under the leadership of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, numerous laws, strategies, state programs, concepts, and legal documents were adopted in the field of education. As a result, education was declared a key sector, a strategic resource for intellectual growth, and a crucial factor in strengthening foundations of statehood, receiving respect and status it deserves.

It is worth mentioning that the ongoing attention and support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Head of State have been a strong source of motivation for the staff of the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics.

Our time is a period of stable development, creative progress, training of knowledgeable and constructive specialists, strengthening national independence, and preserving peace and unity. The continuous efforts of the university’s academic staff are now aimed at preparing for the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. “I am confident,” added Muminzoda S.A., “that our university’s faculty and students will continue striving to achieve noble goals during this important stage of national life — and they will succeed.”

During the event, several professors and staff members who achieved significant results in teaching and education were honored with the “Excellence in Education of the Republic of Tajikistan” badge. This recognition is proof that the hard work of teachers is consistently acknowledged by the state.

The celebration of Knowledge Day and the Peace Lesson once again demonstrated that the students and faculty of TSULBP honor values of peace, unity, enlightenment, and national identity — and are entering the new academic year with a strong sense of responsibility.
