TSULBP: Participation in the International Chinese Language Forum in Central Asia

From June 1 to 3, 2025, the Forum on the High-Quality Development of International Chinese Language Education in Central Asia was held in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. Professor T.R. Rizozoda, vice-rector for International Relations, and Associate Professor Z.R. Rustamzoda, chief of Foreign Languages chair, participated and delivered a presentation on “Formation and Development of Chinese Language Education at TSULBP.”

The forum brought together leaders of 25 universities from Central Asian countries and the People’s Republic of China. On the sidelines of a forum, productive meetings were held with representatives of several prominent universities from Shaanxi and Chengdu provinces of China. Discussions focused on establishing cooperation through faculty and student exchange programs, creating joint degree programs, and organizing international conferences with participation of leading scholars and researchers.

The aim of the forum was to strengthen academic and educational cooperation between Central Asian countries and PRC in the field of international Chinese language education. The event served as an important platform for sharing experiences, achievements, and perspectives on Chinese language learning across the region. Participants discussed critical issues such as curriculum enhancement, development of teaching materials adapted to cultural characteristics of students, academic exchange, and creation of joint language learning centers.

Holding such forums in future is expected to foster stronger academic and cultural ties between regional universities and China, as well as contribute to promotion of high-quality Chinese language education in Tajikistan.
