TSULBP: Regional Scientific-Theoretical Conference titled “Tajikistan – Initiator of Solving International Problems”

On May 15, 2025, a regional scientific-theoretical conference titled “Tajikistan – Initiator of Solving International Problems” was held at the State University of Law, Business and Politics of Tajikistan. The conference was dedicated to the International Year of Glacier Protection, declared by the UN General Assembly for 2025 at the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Representatives of government bodies, professors and researchers, students, and other guests participated in the conference. Vice-rector for Science and Innovation, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Davron Dadojon Bobojoniyon made an opening speech and highlighted the importance of Tajikistan’s international initiatives, especially in protection of water resources and glaciers.

He stated that the Head of State, respected Emomali Rahmon, consistently raises the issue of glacier melting and climate change impact at international meetings. The UN resolution on International Year of Glacier Protection, adopted with the support of over 150 countries worldwide, is the result of these persistent efforts.

Following this, other participants spoke, including the head of Youth and Sports Department of Sughd region Bakhtiyor Ismatzoda, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Shuhrat Saidzoda, Senior Lecturer at UET TSUT Farangis Kamolova, and Nargisa Khoshimova – Senior Lecturer of the university’s  Political Science chair.

The presentations analyzed various aspects of environmental protection, consequences of climate change, and Tajikistan’s role in mobilizing global community to address these challenges, leading to fruitful discussions.

At the conclusion of the event, speakers and active participants were awarded certificates of appreciation by the university administration.
