KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGE – KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORLD

At the chair of Foreign Languages of the Tajik State University of Law, Business, and Politics, in celebration of April 20th, International Chinese Language Day, a “Chinese Language Week” was held. Within the framework of the week, several scientific and educational events were organized and conducted with involvement of experienced specialists. On April 18, 2025, a scientific-practical conference was held under the title “Strategic Partnership between Tajikistan and China: Achievements and Development Prospects in the Context of Changing Global Politics,” along with concluding event of the week with participation of scientists and experienced specialists in the field.

First, the dean of the faculty of Political Science and International Relations, Associate Professor Donish Mainusov, opened the conference and introduced participants and guests. In his speech, he emphasized that the leadership of Tajik State University of Law, Business, and Politics, in line with an educational policy of the Leader of Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, has created all the necessary conditions for study of foreign languages, including Chinese. Currently, students from Chinese language groups actively participate in all areas of university activities, demonstrating excellent knowledge and exemplary behavior at national and international events, raising prestige of this educational institution.

During the conference, the vice-rector for International Relations, Professor Rizozoda Tura Rabim, the vice-rector for Science and Innovation, Professor Bobajoniyon Davron Dadojon, the Director of Confucius at the Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgical Institute from China – Zhen Gentyan, the Director of Confucius Institute at Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgical Institute from Tajikistan – Azimov Eminjon Abduhnabievich, and the head of the chief of International Relations, Professor Ghaffori Numonjon Usmonzoda, delivered reports and shared their thoughts on formation and development of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and China, the “Silk Road” project, the role of scientific and educational cooperation in strengthening strategic partnership, and other issues.

It was noted that Chinese is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, and in 2010, by a special resolution of the United Nations, April 20th was declared “International Chinese Language Day.”

After scientific presentations, speakers, winners of various competitions of a week, and active participants were awarded diplomas, certificates of appreciation, and commemorative gifts from the university administration and faculty deanship.

A colorful cultural program, including poetry readings, Confucius’s sayings, dances, and singing, added further beauty and joy to an event.
