The National Army – A Reliable Shield of the Motherland
On February 22, 2025, a ceremonial meeting and a literary and cultural event dedicated to the Day of the Formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan were held at the Tajik State University of Law, Business, and Politics.
The event was attended by the university rector, vice-rectors, heads of departments, faculty deans, department heads, professors, teachers, and students.
At the beginning of the event, the university’s rector, Homid Hoshimzoda, delivered a speech, emphasizing that it is a great honor to celebrate one of the most significant dates in the history of modern independent Tajikistan—the Day of the Formation of the National Army. This army is one of the key pillars of statehood and a reliable shield of the Motherland. The event takes place while the country’s citizens remain inspired and motivated by the latest Address of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, and President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and are striving to implement its key directives and objectives.
On February 23, 1993, the first military parade was held in Tajikistan, and this date was declared the Day of the National Army of the Republic of Tajikistan formation. Today marks its 32nd anniversary.
Rector Hoshimzoda H.H. noted that in a short historical period, through the tireless efforts of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Leader of the Nation, and President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, Armed Forces have transformed into a powerful military force. We must dedicate our love and devotion to ensuring that people of Tajikistan feel confident that they have an army capable of protecting the country’s borders and independence, allowing them to work and live peacefully under its protection.
In the second part of the ceremony, university staff and professors who served in the National Army for the defense of the Motherland were awarded Certificates of Honor and commemorative gifts from the university administration.
The event concluded with a vibrant cultural and entertainment program, reflecting patriotism and dedication to serving the country.
