Joint educational and informative event organized by the chair of Tajik Language and Scientific Library in honor of the State Flag Day of the Republic of Tajikistan under the title “The Flag as a Symbol of Statehood”
The State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan represents independence, unity, integrity, creativity, and nation-building, reflecting noble aspirations of people for progress and prosperity of our beloved country, Tajikistan. Respect and reverence for the flag as a national symbol is both an honorable duty and a civic responsibility for the people of the country. Today, honorable people of Tajikistan, under the flag of unity and harmony, are steadfastly moving forward in construction of a civilized society. With their determined and creative will, they forever honor the State Flag, which reflects our national ideals, alongside other national symbols. This is why, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Public Holidays,” November 24th is celebrated annually as the State Flag Day of the Republic of Tajikistan with great dignity and grandeur.
On November 22, 2024, a joint educational and informative event was held in the conference hall of the Scientific Library of TSULBP, in collaboration with the chair of Tajik language and Scientific Library, to celebrate State Flag Day of the Republic of Tajikistan under the title “The Flag as a Symbol of Statehood.”
The director of the Scientific Library opened the event, informing the purpose and significance of national symbols—Flag, Emblem, and National Anthem—as essential components of statehood and national sacred values. Then, professor Shokiriyon T.S. from the chair of Tajik language gave a presentation on “The Flag and Historical Foundations of Flag Tradition among Ancestors.” The head of the chair of Tajik language, associate professor Rustamov Sh.R., delivered a speech titled “The Flag, its Symbolism, and Idea of Flag-Bearing in National Culture,” and library specialist Muminjonova P.T. spoke on the topic “May Your Flag Always Reign, dear Tajikistan.” During the event, a documentary film about the history of the flag and flag-bearing traditions was presented to the audience. Students recited poems on topics such as patriotism, national pride, and national sacred values.
In order to provide students with greater familiarity with a fundamental literature related to these topics, a book exhibition was organized.
Furthermore, in honor of this significant historical date, on November 21st, a joint educational event was held in the conference hall of TSULBP dormitory. The event was organized by the chair of Tajik language, branch of scientific library in the dormitory, and the department of Political Science, under the title “The Flag of Tajikistan: A Symbol of Unity and National Cohesion.”
The event featured presentations and speeches by the professors to honor national sacred values and the Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. Students recited poems, gave reports, participated in a quiz, and performed national songs and dances for the audience.
