A Meeting on Strengthening Language Learning Held at TSULBP

On November 7, 2025, a working meeting titled “Strengthening Language Learning — A Factor in the Development of Knowledge and International Relations” was held at Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics.

The meeting was attended by the rector of the university, Sheroz Muminzoda, vice-rectors, heads of departments and divisions, faculty deans, and representatives of the university’s structural units.

The main purpose of a meeting was to discuss practical ways to implement  instructions and directives of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, as well as the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding strengthening of language learning in higher education institutions.

At the beginning of the session, rector Sheroz Muminzoda emphasized that language is one of the key elements of self-awareness and personal development, and that knowledge of foreign languages is especially important for young specialists in the context of globalization and the rapid advancement of science and technology.

He noted that university must create favorable conditions for improving language skills and competencies of students and teachers, and should introduce new educational programs in this area.

Next, the Head of the Department of Foreign languages presented a report on the current state of language instruction, existing challenges, and available opportunities. He proposed several measures aimed at enhancing educational programs, attracting experienced instructors, and using modern teaching methods, including digital technologies and online courses.

The Head of the University’s International Relations Office also spoke about the existing cooperation with foreign educational institutions and opportunities offered by student exchange programs, emphasizing the need to strengthen collaboration with foreign language learning centers.

During the meeting, participants discussed ways to increase students’ motivation to learn foreign languages, create additional courses, and organize competitions and cultural-scientific events.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the rector instructed the structural units to develop a concrete plan for an effective implementation of language-learning programs and ensure continuous monitoring of their progress.

It was noted that the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics will continue to take effective measures to promote language learning and raise the level of foreign-language proficiency among students and faculty.
