Czech University of Natural Sciences in Prague representatives visit to TSULBP
Within the framework of cooperation between the Tajik State University of Law, Business and Politics and the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, representatives of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague: Doctor of Economics, professor Mr. Lubosh Smutka and Candidate of Economic Sciences, associate professor Inna Chabelková visited TSULBP on February 22, 2022. The guests were welcomed by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Economics, professor M.M. Sharifzoda. During the meeting, the rector of the university expressed the support of the university administration for the development of cooperation in the field of exchange of teachers and students in the implementation of joint educational programs, cooperation in the field of science between partner universities. In the meeting also was discussed the implementation of a joint project to assess the costs and benefits of adaptation to climate change in the agriculture, forestry and water sectors of Tajikistan, initiated by the United Nations Development Program with financial support from the Government of the Russian Federation. The main goal of this project is to analyze existing and forecast future climate changes in the Kanibadam and Gornomatcha districts of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan, with a focus on agriculture and forestry, water resources management, socio-economic characteristics of the districts and, based on a cost-benefit analysis, submit to UNDP and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, arguments on what adaptation measures should be implemented. Within the framework of this project, the university expert group led by vice-rector for International Relations, Doctor of Economics, professor D.D. Babadzhanov and representatives of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague met with a focus group: jamoat chairmen, agronomists, secondary school teachers, representatives of the water users association, farm managers and other specialists from individual jamoats in the Kanibadam district.
