Participation of our experts in the process of external evaluation of the higher education institutions activities in ensuring quality in the Republic of Kazakhstan
In the current situation, there are institutional changes in quality assurance. Quality assurance in higher professional education is a dynamic process that involves changes in attitudes, methods and even policies. During the last two decades, international quality assurance activities have also influenced the idea of quality of work in Central Asian universities. Kazakhstan could serve as an example of best practice in institutional change, and its achievements could be accepted by neighboring countries.
From March 16 to 18, 2021, `the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology (Uralsk) held an International accreditation of 15 educational programs (EP) of the university. During the online visit, the External Expert Commission (EEC) of the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency (IAAR) included experienced experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Estonia. Tajik state university of law, business and politics vice-rector for international relations, doctor of Economics, professor Babajanov Davron Dadojanovich took an active part in this event as the Chairman of the EEC. The purpose of the EEC visit to the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology was to assess the quality of the university’s activities and the declared EP according to the criteria of specialized accreditation of the IAAR.
Passing International accreditation gives universities the opportunity to acquire a number of competitive advantages, the main of which are: international recognition, confirmation of guarantees of high quality of education and services, a reason to qualitatively assess the level of their activities and implemented educational programs, broad integration into the global educational space and access to the foreign market of educational services, employment of graduates in the specialty in the country and abroad, etc.
