Development of International Cooperation in English Language Teaching: An Important Educational Training in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan
From January 9 to 11, 2025, a three-day training for English language teachers was held in Tashkent, initiated by the British Council and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event took place at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, with the participation of 165 representatives from Central Asian and European countries, as well as prestigious educational institutions.
During the training, the Rector of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, PhD in Pedagogy, Professor Ilkhomjon Tuktasinov, along with representatives of the British Council – Denis Weddingham, Jamila Guliamova, and Tom Kiddle – delivered comprehensive presentations on the importance of expanding modern and innovative teaching practices in Central Asian and European countries.
Representatives from the Republic of Tajikistan, including the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as institutions of higher education in the country, also actively participated in the event.
The main goal of the training was to introduce advanced methods and contemporary teaching practices in English language instruction that help expand scientific and educational cooperation in Central Asia.
This event serves as a prominent example of international cooperation in the field of education and continuous support of educational reforms in Central Asian countries, providing new opportunities for teachers and students to utilize innovative technologies.
